I am up and awake at 2:30am because I’ve just had to deal with a support call. Grr. UPDDTA blah blah blah…
We had the ‘ring lady’ round to see us the other night. Our one real extravagance in this whole wedding thing is having hand made rings with luvvy-duvvy ‘metal exchange’, which basically means that because both our rings are being made at the same time out of the same stuff, our lady can take an iddy-biddy bit of my ring and put it into Mary’s, and vice versa. Now I know and you know that it’s all coming out of the same lump of metal, so who cares… But we like the idea, so ner 🙂
This week I had another visitor in the form of an accident investigator from one of the insurance companies involved in that crash in August. He took a statement from me, and then completely astounded me by saying that the person who’s fault the crash was is trying to blame the other driver. Apparently, nowadays, if you’re driving along in an altogether safe manner, under the speed limit, in a straight line, in the inside lane of a dual carriageway and someone hits you from behind, it’s your fault. Astounding.
Last weekend gave everyone the perfect excuse for blowing stuff up. We went to the Whitstable firework display (since the local one was cancelled due to ‘problems with the firework supplier’), which was OK, but not as good as last year’s spectacle from the local harbour arm. I wanted more ear-drum-bursting bangs, instead of the array of phuts we got.
Anyhoo, I took my camera, but only got one (yes, one) decent image. Pah. Here it is…
Saturday the 31st of March, 2007.
Now that those who should be told face to face (or at least IM to IM) have been told, it’s high time I blogged about the upcoming event of the year, month, or even week 🙂 That’s right, ‘er indoors and I have finally set a date for our big day. Scary forms with fields like “Rank or profession of groom’s father” have been filled in, and not insubstantial amounts of cash have been parted with to secure venues and dresses. It’s all quite exciting 🙂
Please keep an eye out for impending correspondence, and wish us luck with the remaining plans 😀
With the speed and agility of a (sick, almost dead) puma, one of the insurance companies involved in the aftermath of the accident I wrote about a couple of weeks ago has contacted me in my capacity as a WITNESS. (That’s the way they phrased the letter, complete with capitals. Is that so I don’t get scared by the rather official looking letter?)
Anyway, just in case, I’ve removed my entry about the incident. It’ll be back when I’ve said my bit to the companies involved. Judging by their speedy response so far that’ll be just after our sun burns out, then…
